J.J. Abrams, director of the upcoming Star Trek reboot movie, denied rumors that any of the show's original cast members would make cameo appearances in the film; speaking in a news conference in New York on Aug. 25, Abrams said: "The only original cast member from the original [series] is [Leonard] Nimoy."
