Deputy Dewey and Gale Weathers Will Scream Again!

It looks like things are going smoothly so far with the reboot of the Scream franchise. It seems like the only kink that's been found in the ropes is Neve Campbell returning as Sidney Prescott. David Arquette and Courteney Cox have officially signed on for Scream 4. They will be reprising their roles from the original trilogy as Deputy Dewey Riley and and tabloid television reporter Gale Weathers. David seemed quite excited about the new film when interviewed.

"We are going to be doing Scream 4. Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this moment, and hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct. I fell in love with my wife on Scream, so the opportunity to bring (Dewey) back to life and for my wife to play that really b*!chy character again, it's just going to be really fun. It's just great."

If Craven actually directs this installment, it will probably carry a lot more legitimacy with the genre die-hards out there who I think are already questionable about a continuation of the series.

When asked how he felt about Neve Campbell not doing the film, he stated that "I hope Neve does it. I really hope so."

Arquette also wouldn't budge on any story details, laughingly hitting back with "Kevin has sort of put out the broad strokes, but I don't think I'm at liberty to share any of that."

It would be really cool to see Campbell and the Arquettes back together for the sequel, especially with Craven directing. That would basically put pretty much all the original main cast that was left alive in the original trilogy back in the franchise. You never know in Hollywood. Money talks.
